nothing really, resin (man made, not pine resin like amber) and acrylic are plastic substances.

There would be exactly 14.6 beads for a 7" bracelet. But to round off to top #, it would take 15 beads. That doesn't include the clasp size variant, or any connectors between beads.

Lucy, one thing you might want to keep in mind when you are working outside is the wind and we know the wind is heavy in Nebraska. I teach young children down in Florida and I always try to find a sheltered area from the wind. I try to use beads that are not breakable and you can find all kinds of beads in this catagory. I personally love to work outside because (when the sun is out) you can see the true colors.

I bought silver plated for a bracelet and now have to remake it out of sterling. In fact the silver plate did not last all that long.

Acrylics is a family of plastic materials made from methacrylates - monomers, polymers, branched, straight, etc.. Lucite (should be capitalized) is the trade name for methyl methacrylate made by a process patented by ICI (UK). So, it is in the family of acrylics. Other forms include: Plexiglass and Perspix.
