Although it makes it a little more difficult to see every piece of jewelry, I put my sterling silver in small plastic bags that are sold in the jewelry department of retail stores.

For many years I have put chalk pieces in my sterling silver flatware storage chest. Just plain old chalk! It works great and should work on any sterling product. It was a "Hint from Heloise."

Store them in air-tight containers such as Zip-Loc Bags or Tupperware with anti-tarnish carbon strips and keep them away from anything acidic or sulfuric. A rubber band, for example, will turn silver black. Paper and cardboard will also tarnish silver, unless it is acid-free.

I use either the Virgin Mary or the Immaculate Heart centers for my rosaries.

I have made both the chain-link type rosary and ones using jewelry wire. You can check out my jewelry at: http://www.starbrightcreations.webs.com

Go to the "Religious Items" tab and scroll down the page.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. My email address is on the website.

Forgive my ignorance, I always use a centerpiece with twists of wire called bowties or I have used three links to honor Father Son and Holy Spirit. You can make these links or purchase small chain

I hope this helps God Bless

Question
How do I string pearls?

Stringing pearls is done the same way as stringing any other type of bead. The holes in some pearls are very small requiring a smaller wire or thread if you prefer than many other beads. I find a .012 wire works well enough for most pearls. I also use a very flexible type of wire for stringing pearls as they are light weight and a stiffer wire does not work well. (I find a 19 strand wire works well enough in most cases. If I am making a particular high end piece I will use the 49 strand wire (the more strands the more flexible the wire). For basics on string any bead, including pearls, check out the learning section of Artbeads and other sites. There is a lot of great free instruction out there if you just take time to look around a bit.

Traditionally, you would string them on twisted silk thread and knot between each pearl. There is an excelent thread with a needle attatched sold on this site...Griffin Silk Cord. That's what I use and with a little practice, it's easy to make the knots evenly.

You could also use a stringing cable. Some use a small seed bead in-between glass pearls to look like the knotted method. This wouldn't be as flexible as the silk cord which has the added benefit of security should the cord break...the pearls are still yours and not scattered all over the parking lot. Question
I'd like to see some examples of necklaces strung on silk cord...
I'm not very experienced making these necklaces....What's the correct way to fasten the neclace? How do I effectively use the silk cord you sell with the needle at the end? What is the right/wrong type of bead to use on these cords?

The silk cord you ask about is easy to use if you know a couple of basics. Griffin bead cord is twisted so knotting is easy. I like to run it over a bee's wax cake so it slips through the beads. The ends are finished with clam shell bead tip, SS-BDTIP3. Some use glue to secure the knot inside. Through the loops on the bead tip, you can attach any clasp you like. A good rule of thumb on these cords is to use the largest size that will pass through the hole of your beads. A natural pearl has very small holes but the example I've photographed is on #7 size Griffin silk.

you have a lot of questions rolled up in here so I will try to take them in order. Silk cord is usually used for pearls. Usually the inside of a pearl is smooth enough not to create cuts in silk cord plus the cord can be knotted between pearls to create a non-abrasive surface between each bead as well as adding VALUE to the resulting piece. Beadalon makes a knotting tool if you wish to learn to go this direction.

Natural stone beads can be somewhat abrasive inside and can cut silk cord so I prefer to use beading wire for most of my components other than pearls. I frequently use beading wire for pearls as well unless I am going to knot.

The silk cord with the needle at the end can be sued quite well with seed beads as well. These are made of glass and they work well on silk as well as wire. They are tiny and the needle can help to load a few at a time.. Check out the learning center at ArtBeads for more general information. A subscription to one of the beading magazines can teach you a LOT about beading without having to spend a lot of money on classes etc. I especially like the "bead Style" magazine. Have fun!!

If you are using jewelry wire to string your project, you can crimp the wire directly onto the loop at the end of the barrel clasp. If you are using chain, you can use an open jump ring to attach your chain to the loop on the clasp.

You need to use crimp tubes with loops for the leather ends. The leather is inserted into the tube part of the piece and the tube crimped to hold leather in place. Attach a clasp to the loop of the tube.

Question
how do make a twisted beaded necklace three strands stay twisted

The easiest way I can think of would be to use a clasp for 3 strands. Twist the strands and attach the ends of each strand to a loop on on the clasp.
Once you have the twist the way you want it, attach all the strands from one side, then all the strants from the other side.
