I saw an ingenious display at a craft fair once... A vendor had taken a metal mesh waste paper basket, drilled a hole in the center bottom, and turning it upside down, mounted it on an old lamp base, so that a customer could turn the basket to see all the earrings. Of course you don't have to drill the base.. just find a basket, either round or rectangular, turn it upside down and hang your earrings into the mesh. You can put a placard on the "top" stating prices, etc...Hope this gives you ideas, and good luck!

I use half of a printable business card for each necklace. When I print out the sheet of business cards (10 cards to a sheet), I have my logo / business name on each half of a card, then use a paper cutter to cut the cards in half. That way I get 20 cards per sheet and the choices for business cards are varied. You can use marbled or colored etc, and it saves you from having to take the time to decorate or embellish each card. Use a hole punch in the corner of the tag. For earrings, I use the whole business card. Just use a needle to put the holes in for the earrings. You can also buy backs for the cards (they peel and stick) so that they can be hung on racks. Hope that helps!!

I take small string tags, tea-stain, dye (egg dye), or brush the edges with a stamp pad, or a combination of the 3, and then mark them accordingly with my name, or avatar, a small stamp or punch, and contact info. It's cheap, easy, customizable, and can be passed along if someone else likes the piece.

The amount of seed beads in an 8 gram bag will vary depending on the size and shape of the bead. You can find the approximate number of beads per bag at the top of the main page for each of the seed bead categories. For instance, on the Toho Round 8/0 beads, you will see the approximate number of beads per bag (350) at the top of the page:

I myself have used cord ends and haven't had any problems. Artbeads.com has them listed as 'crimp tubes'. But they have a handful of base metal cord ends that you can use to better match the leather color, as well as give the overall design a little flare depending on the patterned cord end you use. These 'crimp tubes' just crimp on the end of the the leather and are secure, you could even add a touch of glue as an extra precaution (I do).

how to end a pearl necklace

depending on what stringing material you used can help determine how to end the necklace. If it is knotted you can creat a knot at each end covered with a clam shell bead tip. Slide the clam shell bead over the knot, put a drop of glue on the knot and close the clam shell. You could even use a cord end to clamp over the ends of the cord/string or whatever you used. There are some decorative cord ends. Otherwise if you used regular beading wire you can use crimp beads that are have designs or patterns or texture to give a finished look or use a crimp cover; all ending with a nice toggle. There are a few filigree toggles that give that extra touch to a pearl necklace.

Question
How can I be sure I have the thread tight enough on a necklace strand before I start tying the knots?
I strung acrlic beads on a double strand of thread then put a wire guardian on each end of the thread and pulled the thread as tight as I could, added the clasp, made sure the thread was tight again before I tied the knots on the two ends and I still have about 1/4" to 1/2" of thead showing between the beads and the clasp.

We suggest tying off one end of the thread at a time. So when one side is done you can slide your beads flush against that knot. It might be helpful to hold the other end you are currently tying a few inches off of your work table before tying the knot.

Another way to finish off a thread or cord necklace is to use clam shell bead tips. Below is a link on how to use clam shell bead tips:

I use padded envelopes (the inside looks like bubble wrap); you can get them literally at any store - grocery, office supply, etc. For nice presentation I wrap the jewelry in tissue paper.
Postage isn't much. They do have small boxes you can use, but the postage is close to $6.00. I only use that if I have a lot going to one customer.

You can use broken beads, flatback rhinestones, paper and fabric scraps, and anything else you can think of! Here is a free idea from our Learning Center that shows how we embellished the tins:
